The seminar titled “Hand in Hand for a Safe Future”, organized by the Çorum Provincial Police Department, was held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Osmancık KYK Dormitory Conference Hall. The event, organized in cooperation with our Vocational School, aimed to help young people prepare for a safe, conscious, and healthy future.
The seminar program began with a presentation by Psychological Counselor and Guidance Teacher Ayşe Sakallı from the Green Crescent (Yeşilay). Sakallı delivered an informative session on the growing types of addiction among young people, substance abuse, technology addiction, and psychological resilience. She shared valuable insights on raising awareness about combating addiction and promoting healthy lifestyle habits among students.
Following the Green Crescent presentation, the main seminar conducted by officials from the Çorum Provincial Police Department took place. Police officers gave comprehensive presentations on counter-terrorism, digital security, drug prevention, preventing youth involvement in crime, and strengthening social solidarity. The speakers particularly emphasized the importance of young people being aware of terrorist propaganda and highlighted the significance of safe communication, social sensitivity, and cooperation between citizens and the police.
At the end of the program, students asked questions to both the Green Crescent representative and the police officials, engaging in a constructive exchange of ideas. Participants stated that the seminar was highly beneficial in raising awareness.
